Were you always planning to be an attorney and why?

From a young age, I was drawn to the idea of standing up for others and solving complex problems. While I initially explored various career paths, I was consistently drawn back to the legal profession because of its unique ability to create real change, both in people’s lives and within broader society.

When meeting with clients do they mostly come to your own premises or do you mostly go their theirs?

My clients come to my office, I offer flexible consultation options to suit your needs — whether virtually, telephonically, or at your premises. I’m here to make the legal process as convenient and accessible as possible for you.

What is your preferred mode of communication with your clients?

Email, Phone, WhatsApp, I believe clients should always be able to reach their attorney when they need to. I’m available via phone, email, or WhatsApp , whichever is most convenient for you.

Have you ever done an online video call with a client?

Yes

What do you love most about law and being an attorney?

What I love most is making a real difference in people’s lives , whether it’s protecting their rights, guiding them through a tough situation, or helping them find clarity in legal complexities. Every case is unique, and being able to offer support, solutions, and peace of mind is what makes this work so fulfilling for me.

Would you recommend becoming an attorney as a career for school-leavers, and why?

Absolutely — if you’re passionate about helping people, enjoy solving problems, and aren’t afraid of hard work, it’s a rewarding career. Being an attorney challenges you, teaches you resilience, and gives you the opportunity to truly make a difference. It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely worth it.

What qualities should South Africans be looking for in their attorney?

You should look for someone who is honest, responsive, and truly committed to your case. A good attorney should communicate clearly, explain your options, and keep you informed.

In your view, what are the major problems and/or opportunities facing the legal profession?

There has been a troubling rise in unethical practices among legal practitioners, with an increasing number facing disciplinary actions. This trend threatens public trust in the legal system.

What fields of law do you, as an attorney, monthly focus on?

I focus primarily on Labour and Employment Law, Regulatory Compliance, Family Law, and Civil Litigation. Whether it’s representing clients at the CCMA, drafting compliance policies, handling divorce or custody matters, or resolving disputes in court, I’m committed to delivering practical, results-driven legal solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

From your experience, if you could cite one of the biggest reasons South Africans need advice from an attorney, what would that be?

One of the biggest reasons is that people often sign contracts or make important decisions without fully understanding their legal rights or obligations. This can lead to serious consequences later on. Getting proper legal advice upfront can prevent costly mistakes, protect your interests, and ensure you're making informed choices — whether in business, employment, or family matters.

Do you think the coming wave of automation in the next few years will steal some legal jobs and why/why not?

No, I don’t believe automation will steal legal jobs — but it will change the way we work.

Describe your average client

My average client is someone facing a legal issue that feels overwhelming — whether it’s a workplace dispute, a family matter, or a civil conflict.

How far away from your premises is your furthest client?

My furthest client is based overseas. Thanks to virtual consultations and digital communication, I’m able to assist clients no matter where they are in the world. Distance is no longer a barrier when it comes to delivering professional and personalised legal services.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, and always finding something new to learn — whether it's a legal topic, a creative skill, or personal development. I also love spending time in nature, exploring new places, and connecting with family and friends. It's all about finding balance and staying inspired.

What is the most interesting thing on your bucket list?

Definitely skydiving! It’s the ultimate mix of fear and freedom — and I think there’s something powerful about stepping out of your comfort zone (quite literally) and doing something that challenges you completely.
